Bluetooth Tethering & USB Tethering: How to use

A similar-to Wi-Fi hotspot software in smartphones known as Bluetooth Tethering. Many have asked what is Bluetooth Tethering in smartphone settings. Now see the answer, as we link or connect our computer or smartphone to another phone in order to share Internet connection through Bluetooth, it is called Bluetooth Tethering.

Just like the Hotspot Tethering that when you turn on a phone’s data connection and the phone’s Hotspot then connect to it via Wi-Fi, so it is in this. You turn on data connection and Bluetooth, then connect with a Bluetooth enabled device. There’s no need for Wi-Fi, bluetooth is said to be faster when connecting.

How To Connect To Bluetooth Tethering

To connect your Bluetooth, first you will have to follow these simple steps. Before connectiom, check if there is a strong network to avoid having a slow connection on the other end. 

  • In Android Phones: Draw down the notification menu and turn on Bluetooth.
  • Go to settings, scroll down and click on more or Network and Internet, or Data and connections (these items varies according to the phone being used)
  • Click on Tethering & Portable Hotspot.

There are three options, Wi-Fi Hotspot, USB Tethering and Bluetooth Tethering. 

  • Turn on the Bluetooth Tethering

Now use the other device to connect by turning on the Bluetooth and search for the other. 

If the both Bluetooth devices are connected, then this means that the device with Bluetooth Tethering is sharing Internet connection to the other. 

USB Tethering

Same with Bluetooth Tethering but this requires a cable unlike other wireless Tetherings. You can share network from PC to smartphone or smartphone to PC when a USB cable is connected and set to Tethering. 

How to connect USB Tethering

  • Go to settings, scroll down and click on more or Network and Internet, or Data and connections (these items varies according to the phone being used)
  • Then Click on Tethering & Portable Hotspot.
  • There are three options, Wi-Fi Hotspot, USB Tethering and Bluetooth Tethering.
  • Turn on the USB Tethering
  • Then connect to your PC
