The Huawei P50 Pro Review ” A Legend Reborn”

The Huawei P50 Pro is Huawei’s latest flagship device. It is a successor to the P40 Pro and a higher variant to the P50. The price of this device is between $1230-$1379 depending on the variant you purchase. The performance of this device is on another level compared to its peers, it is designed with the Kirin 9000 chipset or the snapdragon 888 chipset. For gaming and graphics processing is the Adreno 660 or Mali G78 GPU. These processor and GPU variants all depend on the region or location and the choice of the consumer. A 4360mAh battery powers device sufficiently for up to a day with full usage.

The design of this device is basically the same as the Huawei P50 but in larger dimensions. Its screen comprises a 6.6-inch OLED Display with a quick 120hz refresh rate plus a resolution of 1228×2700 pixels. Design and Display

The physical design of this P50 Pro is its identity among other flagship devices of this year. From the rear view, you see a large double matrix camera design with Leica optics. On the bottom is the sim tray with a USB Type-C charging port, and from the top is an IR blaster plus noise cancellation module. Coming to the screen is an awesome 6.6-inch curved OLED true chroma curved display. This display is unlike any other you have seen and has surpassed that of the Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra.

The display of the Huawei P50 Pro is a true chroma display supporting P3 wide colour gamut. The screen has a refresh rate of 120hz just like the Xiaomi MI 11 Ultra and gives the phone a 91.2% screen-to-body ratio. Its colours are very pleasant and comfortable to the eyes in both good and low lighting conditions. When you hold this device you get both a premium and compact feel which you cannot get on any other device.

Huawei P50 Pro Camera

When deciding one of the strongholds of this phone, the camera is easily one of them. From the physical design, you can tell that this camera module is no joke. The main camera consists of a double matrix lens with a 50 MP main lens and a 13 MP ultra-wide plus a 64 MP telephoto lens. This camera has special features like Huawei XD optics and fusion which make it produce comprehensive detailed images. The super zoom matrix is very accurate and can get objects kilometres away in detail with enough clarity.

This camera is one of the main reasons I wrote this Huawei P50 Pro review. Huawei has officially released images to show the prowess of this phone and all of them are breathtaking. One of such images is shown below.

Battery and Performance

The battery capacity of phones is vital. Especially if it is a flagship phone, flagships consume so much power and it doesn’t make any sense to have a poor battery. The Huawei P50 Pro has a sufficient non-removable battery capacity of 4360 mAh. This battery may not seem too sufficient as the current battery standard today is about 5000mAh. However, the Huawei P50 Pro is armed with a powerful chipset that is very good at battery life.

The Huawei P50 Pro has two processor variants, the Snapdragon 888 and the Kirin 9000 chipsets. They are equipped according to the location of the buyer. According to the company, the variance in processors is due to a shortage of chipsets. This processor is paired with an Adreno 660 or the Mali G78- MP24 GPU. Performance is one of the qualities of this device because of the processor, GPU and more.

Connectivity of the P50 Pro

Connectivity isn’t a problem for the Huawei P50 Pro because of its features. Firstly it has Wi-Fi with dual-band and hotspot, it also has Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and an infrared blaster. The NFC function is also available for this device. All these features make the Huawei P50 Pro have seamless connectivity and improve performance.

Price and Availability

The Huawei P50 Pro is an expensive device that sells for about $1230. It is available for sale online and in local stores in most parts of the world. The Snapdragon and Kirin variants are also available depending on the location of the user. The Huawei P50 Pro is definitely a device worth its price.

Durability

The Huawei P50 Pro is very durable, with IP68 dust and splash protection rating. This means it can resist damage from excessive moisture and dust for a long time. Even though most of the durability specifications are not mentioned by the Company, this device will definitely be very durable.

General Overview of the P50 Pro

When I think perfection, I think Huawei P50 series. After a full review of the Huawei P50 Pro, I can say that they are very high in quality, durable, and worth their price. The camera of this device is a special one and is among its best features. The sleek design of the Huawei P50 Pro is very nice and comfortable to handle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Huawei P50 Pro worth buying?

The Huawei P50 Pro has elegant hardware and great cameras, but no Google or 5G. The P50 Pro is a superbly designed flagship-class smartphone with an excellent camera system, but many potential buyers won’t be able to ignore the lack of Google Mobile services and 5G, considering the four-figure price.

How long does the P50 Pro battery last?

We’d say a day of calls and 10 hours of non-stop web browsing are just fine, but 11 hours of video playback is subpar. The final endurance rating of 76 hours is also hurt by the rather average standby consumption.

Does Huawei P50 Pro have the best camera?

Of course, the P50 Pro saves the 10x pictures in 12.5MP photos, and they do look a bit upscaled – you can see the average detail and the lack of sharpness. They do excel in everything else – white balance, contrast, dynamic range, noise reduction.
