The Oppo Reno series has always been about the camera but this time they have also provided a decent processor. I say decent because, for the price, you should be getting better. Launched on the 10th December 2020 and was released on January 5, 2021. Running on the latest Android 11 with over 128GB of internal memory, we seem to be finally home and dry with this one. The panel on the back is plastic. Coming in with a big screen of about 6.5″ and a capacious 4350mAh battery.

Design and Display
The design of Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G gives such an aesthetic pleasure when held, having an ultra-slim body, less weight, and fingerprint resistance. More to it, Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G has a sleek 3D borderless screen on its thick bezels making it more convenient to look at.
Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G comes in four colors of Astral Blue, Starry Black, Starry Dream, Star Wish Red that shines in multiple colors when light reflects on its coated glass back. It’s built on an aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass 5 front and back for protection against falls. At the back is the Oppo logo printed vertically at the bottom left corner, the camera house is placed at the right top corner of the back. In the front is a punch-hole housing the front camera and an under-screen fingerprint sensor at the center. The SIM slot is placed at the bottom left close to the centered charging port, while the Dolby speaker is at the right bottom corner.
Oppo Reno5 5G Super AMOLED screen is measured at 6.5inches, 7.6mm thick, 92.1% screen to body ratio, 20:9 aspect ratio, screen resolution of 1040 x 2400 pixels, 402 PPI density, and weighing about 173g. For gamers, there are enough screens to play games and watch movies conveniently.
It also a features 90Hz refresh rate with the option to switch to 60Hz for lesser battery consumption, it has a screen brightness of 500 nits (typical); with a maximum of 800nits in sunlight (typical), and a local peak brightness of 1100 nits. The design and display of Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G is generally better than its lower model Oppo Reno5 5G although both devices are great with the prices.
Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G Camera
Oppo has been impressed with their camera technology and has yet delivered a good quad-camera setup on the Reno5 Pro 5G. The Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G packs a camera setup of 64MP, 8MP, 2MP, and 2MP same as the Reno5 5G. The main camera of 64-megapixel has f/1.7 aperture; FOV 81°; closed-loop focus motor, the 8MP Ultra Wide-angle Camera has f/2.2 aperture; FOV 115°. However, the 2MP Macro Camera has an aperture of f/2.4; FOV 89° and a 2MP Mono Camera with f/2.4 aperture; FOV 89°. The rear camera features photo, video, panoramic, portrait, night mode, time-lapse, sticker, dual-view video, text scanner, movie, expert, extra HD, slow motion.
In addition, the image sizes of the rear camera are 6936 x 9248 (64 MP) which is the maximum size and the normal photo modes are 3468 x 4624 (4:3), 3468 x 3468 (1:1), 2080 x 4624 (full screen)and 2608 x 4624 (16:9).
In the front is a 32MP camera which has an f/2.4 aperture; FOV 81° and features photo, video, panoramic, portrait, night mode, time-lapse, sticker, dual-view video.
While the front camera image sizes are 4896 x 6528 (4:3), 4896 x 4896 (1:1), 2944 x 6528 (full frame) and 3680 x 6528 (16:9).
Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G video shooting is decent with 4K(30fps), 1080P(60fps/30fps), and 720P(60fps/30fps) for the rear camera while the front camera shoot at 1080P(30fps) (default) or 720P(30fps).
Battery and Performance
Oppo Reno 5 Pro is powered by a 4350mAh Li-Po Battery which supports 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging. It also supports other fast charging protocols that include VOOC 3.0, SuperVOOC, USB Power Delivery (PD), and Quick Charge. Hence, you need not worry about charging your phone frequently or battery drainage.
In terms of performance, MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ is in place for the CPU with a speed of Octa-core (4×2.6 GHz Cortex-A77 & 4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55). ARM G77 MC9 836MHz is the GPU processor for quality gaming graphics and image editing.
Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G is built with 8GB base RAM and 128GB base storage, 12GB RAM, and 256GB storage capacity for saving videos, music, and documents.
The Reno5 Pro 5G runs on ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 upgradable to Android 12.
